Crazy title, but there’s a lot of truth behind it. Like this train, our climate has become derailed. Fossil fuels are warming our planet at an alarming rate and the consequences are global in scale. Fragile flora and fauna are facing increased challenges as they struggle to adapt to the rapidly changing environment and entire species are dying off because of human activity. Climate based human migration is already happening all over the world, including in the US, and will only continue to get worse as the climate warms. As water becomes scarce, natural disasters happen more frequently, and the incredible loss of land to the sea becomes apparent, both animals and people will be forced to leave their homes. Discontinuing the use of fossil fuels really is a matter of life or death and we need to bring about the end of fossil fuels before we become fossils ourselves. Climate change is very real and we can’t afford inaction.
